Miami-area prep shortstop Manny Machado, advised by Scott Boras, has until midnight tonight to agree to terms with the Baltimore Orioles. All expectations are that the deal will most definitely get done, but it won’t get done until very close to midnight — that’s just how Boras operates. It’s expected that Machado will be offered too much money from the Orioles to realistically turn down.
The Orioles are hopeful that they will also be able to sign Matt Bywater (seventh round), Alexander Gonzalez (11th round) and Austin Urban (27th round.)
