I’d like to welcome two new writers to the blog — Scott Kornberg and Aaron Watkins, both of whom are a part of the journalism program at the University of Maryland along with me. Kornberg is also a part of my weekly talk show every Monday night from 8-9 p.m. when classes are in session.

Kornberg will be writing about Maryland football and basketball in the future, while Watkins will be writing about the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland basketball. You can follow both Kornberg and Watkins on Twitter — @Scott_Kornberg and @acewat.

I’m not sure when their first posts will be or what they’ll be about, but I’m sure they’ll be must-reads. They’re both smart dudes who know what they’re talking about when it comes to sports.

I recently added a new page for the blog that I’ve linked on my header, which is titled, “Baseball’s Advanced Stats.” In baseball-related posts, I often use advanced statistics, so I figured that it’d be wise to create a new page defining and detailing the advanced statistics that I often use. Take a look at the new page and tell me what you think. If you have an advanced statistic that I missed, which you feel is important, drop me a note in the comments section.

As you can see, I have another new look. With the help of my good buddy, Drew Hammond (Twitter: @Drew_Hammond), who helped me put together the blog in the first place, we have a badass, new layout. The header is four photos that I took meshed together, and that looks silly good thanks to Drew. The Maryland flag in the background is a cool touch. As you’ve probably figured out, I’ve changed the layout of my blog. I was talking with my friend that helped me put the site together and he said that a layout such as this would allow my blog to be more organized, and he also said the brighter the layout is, the better.

So what we have is a more organized and brighter layout. I’ve also added an extremely professional, high quality photo of Camden Yards that I took with my nearly year-old cell phone (hey, I try). Shoot me a comment about what you think of the new layout.

Also, check back to my blog post about Taylor Swift and the perfect game that wasn’t if you’ve already read it — I’ve added a few notes to it. I kept thinking up of aspects of each that I didn’t want to leave out, so I added them where those thoughts fit in with the post.
