My University of Maryland talk show, Monday Night Madness, had a special show planned for our last show of the semester, which included an interview with very talented Maryland wide receiver Torrey Smith. I recorded the interview with Smith before the show with my good buddy on the show, Scott Kornberg. My final talk show of the semester along with fellow University of Maryland students Scott Kornberg and Matt Castello will be today, Monday, May 9, from 8-9 p.m. The talk show airs on WMUC Sports. My cousin, John Gonoude, will also be calling into the show to talk about head injuries in sports, which he’s become an expert on – unfortunately via experience.

My talk show on the University of Maryland campus that I host with two other Maryland students recently had the priviledge of interviewing well-known baseball writer Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated. We recorded the interview with Verducci and it aired on WMUC Sports this past Monday night. I was unable to partake in the interview with Verducci, but my co-hosts Scott Kornberg and Matt Castello did a fine job. They discussed the process Verducci undergoes in developing a cover story, the differences between talking to players earlier in Verducci’s career as compared to now, among other things.
